Wales: Are we doing enough?
Age Alliance Wales Annual Senedd Event

Building on the success of our recent conference and launch of our report: Wales: A Good Place to Grow Old?, this event focused on the theme of reablement. We believe that older people must have the support, information and access to the reablement services they need to regain their independence, inclusion, wellbeing and quality of life.  This event was organised in partnership with the Welsh Reablement Alliance, bringing the total number of organisations represented to 26. Organisations are membership based and together the alliances represent over 100,000 older people from across Wales.

Age Alliance Wales Annual Conference 2012 - Wales: A Good Place to Grow Old?  

Life expectancy is increasing – it is predicted that within the next 25 years, the number of people in Wales will increase by 33%. At this year’s annual conference, Age Alliance Wales launched a new report, produced in partnership with the Bevan Foundation, which highlights the realities of life for older people in Wales today and asks how policy makers, local government and health services can work together to ensure that Wales is a good place to grow old.

The First Annual Age Alliance Wales Senedd Event
Wednesday 11^th January 2012

The First Annual Age Alliance Wales Senedd Event was held in the Oriel in the Senedd Building and was a great success in raising the profile of older people’s issues in Wales. Age Alliance Wales organisations worked together to invite over 50 older people to the event and many took the opportunity to meet and raise their concerns with their AMs.
